Mountain Arts Festival 2015

Community Action Nepal in association with the Royal Geographical Society (RGS) NW Region host the Mountain Arts Festival on 6-8 November 2015 at the Rheged Centre in Penrith, Cumbria. It will be a weekend celebrating the importance of mountains and mountain peoples. The many ways in which mountains are viewed will be presented through the work of painters, walking artists, sculptors, writers, poets, musicians, dancers, photographers, film makers, jugglers, acrobats and other artists. Events will include presentations, discussions, an exhibition, creative writing and water colour painting workshops, and a musical performance on Saturday evening featuring Striding Edge Ceilidh Band. Three days of talks, readings and discussions will include presentations by British Everest summiteers Sir Chris Bonington and Sir Doug Scott.
